Uploading Your Documents -

Use the apps you use every day

You can use Facebook, messenger, WhatsApp or email to send us your documents in just 5 minutes.

Select which app you wish to use on your phone or tablet.

Using a smart phone, this should take just 5 minutes.

Using Facebook:

Lay out all of your documents on a flat surface.
Take a photo of each document one by one.
Go onto your Facebook app or click on the purple button below.
Click on the grey or blue button thats says 'Send Message'
A message page should appear.
Click on the image button at the bottom left. It looks like this bullet point.
You should now see all of the images you have taken of your documents.
Just click on each on of the images and then click 'Send' and you're all done.

PRIVACY NOTE: Once you send us your documents using this method we will download the images, and we will upload them to our secured internal system where we hold you current customer details. These images will remain on your facebook messenger. You can delete them at any time.

Using a smart phone, this should take just 5 minutes.

Using Facebook Messenger

Lay out all of your documents on a flat surface.
Take a photo of each document one by one.
Click on your Facebook Messenger app.
At the top, search for 'Ramsey Lomax' and click on it.
Click on 'Send Documents'
Click on the image button at the bottom left. It looks like this bullet point.
You should now see all of the images you have taken of your documents.
Just click on each one of the images and then click 'Send' and you're all done.

PRIVACY NOTE: Once you send us your documents using this method we will download the images, and we will upload them to our secured internal system where we hold you current customer details. These images will also remain on your facebook messenger. You can delete these are any time.

Using WhatsApp:

Lay out all of your documents on a flat surface.
Take a photo of each document one by one.
Click on your WhatsApp.
Click on the camera icon. It looks like this bullet point.
Click on the image button at the bottom left. It looks like this bullet point.
You should now see all of the images you have taken of your documents. Click on the most recent one.
You can then click on the '+' button in the bottom left to add all of the other document photos. It looks like this bullet point.
Then click 'Done' in the top right hand corner.
Finally, click the blue arrow button in the bottom right.

Using a smart phone, this should take just 5 minutes.

Using Email:

There are lots of different email providers such as gmail, hotmail, yahoo, outlook and many more so it’s difficult to provide an exact guide for all types of emails but below is an example with outlook.

Log into your email account.
Go to the email that you have received from your Ramsey Lomax advisor.
Click on reply.
Select the image icon at the bottom of your reply email.
You can either take new photos of your documents or add photos that you have already taken.
Simply click send and you are all done.

Using a laptop or PC to send us your documents.

There is no one size fits all guide for using a laptop or pc as there are so many different types but below are some ideas on how you could send us supporting documents using this type of device.

Send everything via email

Seems like an obvious one but basically the only way to send us your supporting documents using a PC or laptop will be via your email.

That said, if you prefer to use other applications like skype, zoom or something similar then please let us know and we will try to use those.

You will have received an email from your dedicated advisor. Simply reply to that email and attach the documents.

Online banking is very useful

If you use online banking then you should be able to download statements for all sorts of things.

Statements could be your bank statements, or statements for loans, credit cards, over drafts and much more.

If you can, we would suggest registering for online banking with all of your lenders and your bank.

Ramsey Lomax provides a number of free services called ‘Easy Statement’ and ‘Soft Search’. These services can usually get all of the documents we require without you having to do anything so please remember to ask your dedicated advisor about this if you haven’t already spoken with them about it.

You can use screen shots.

This is particularly useful for certain documents that you may be unable to download or haven’t received in the post yet.

If you can see what you need in your web browser then you could do a ‘screen shot’.

Screen shots basically take a picture of your entire screen and saves it as an image on your desktop or into your images file.

Every computer has a different way of doing this.

Most screen shots on a windows computer are done by pressing the ”Alt + PrtScn” buttons on your keyboard.

For a mac computer it is usually ”shift (the arrow pointing up) + cmd + 3”

On tablet computers you may need to hold down buttons on the side of the device. You will probably need to google this for your specific tablet.

Uploading photos from your phone

If you have paperwork that you want to get onto your laptop or computer than you can use your smartphone.

Simply take a picture of the documents on your phone and then use a USB cable to move the photos from your phone to your laptop or computer.

There are so many different types of phones and computers so it is very hard for us to tell you exactly how to do this but you may want to google how to do it for your specific phone and computer.

Do you have a scanner?

Great, this makes life much easier.

Simply scan your paperwork and save it as an image to your desktop.

Then just go back to the email that you have received from Ramsey Lomax, click reply and upload the documents to the reply email.

Using post to send us your documents.

Whilst we do, of course, except supporting documents via the post we find that this method takes the longest and is the most expensive for our customers because it’s a good idea to send documents via registered post. We also find that post is the least secure of the three options.
